TOMATOX by Tony Moly

Lately, perhaps due to stress and my odd sleeping habits, spots have been having a field day on my face. If it wasn’t for makeup, I’d be a walking embodiment of the word “haggard.”

So when I got my Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack from the Tony Moly press launch, I took it as a sign from the stars telling me to start doing something about my face… or else!

According to their sales personnel, this is one of their best-selling product. It retails at about PHP548 and comes in a cute tomato container that sits lovely on my dresser.

Application is really easy. Just follow these three simple steps:

1. Start with a clean face. I made sure that all my makeup was removed and that my face was perfectly cleaned with a gentle facial wash. Hence why all the spots on my forehead and my cheeks are very much in evidence. Eek!

2. Put the product all over the face and neck. Using the small spoon that comes with the product, apply some on the apples of the cheeks, the forehead, bridge of the nose, chin, and neck. Then rub evenly on the face using the hands for about 2 minutes. I promise, you won’t need a lot of product to cover the face and neck.

3. Leave on for about 10 to 15 minutes. After this, wash off the product with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. I made the mistake of putting too much on my first try, hence the thick coat. Hope my face didn’t scare you. :)

Benefits

This product claims to help brighten and clear up the skin as it contains fresh tomatoes. Tomatoes are a good natural remedy for clear skin because of the following:

1. They contain antioxidants that prevent skin damage at a cellular level.

2. Tomatoes are also a natural astringent that help cool the skin and tighten the pores.

3. Because tomatoes are rich in Vitamin A and C, they help brighten dull skin tones, normalize oily skin thus keeping it acne-free, and also encourage skin regeneration.

4. Not only that, tomatoes also contain other nutrients like potassium, calcium, and manganese, which may also help the skin.

Results

Because the instructions recommend that I use the product at least 2 to 3 times a week or everyday as needed, I applied it for three consecutive days before I made this blog post. This is to make sure that I give a proper review of the product. I also took photos of my face after every application to document the results.

Day 1

Because I don’t think anything can give instantaneous results when it comes to spots, you can still see acne near my brows and on my cheeks.

Day 2

On the second day, my acne was still there but I did notice that after every application, my skin felt softer and at the same time, more supple.

Day 3

On the third day, my skin was obviously much, much better! Even I couldn’t believe it. My acne was still present but I noticed that they have dried out and aren’t as red as they were in the first day. Also, If I were to explain “bright skin,” I’d say that it describes the quality of my skin after the third day.

Before and After

For good measure, I did the ritual again for a fourth time. Below you can see the state of my skin before I put on the Tomatox on the first day and after I put it on the fourth day.

It’s up to you to decide if you do see some changes in my skin but for me, I sincerely think that it worked. :)
